Tonia Johnson, President

Tonia Johnson graduated from Church Point High School, received an Associate’s Degree from LSUE, and her cosmetology license from Acadiana School of Cosmetology. She has been married for 22 years to Jake and has three boys, Ian, Zan, and Baze and they reside in Carencro. Tonia and Jake own Warchiefs Sports and RePlay Sports located in Carencro. Tonia is a member of the Carencro Cultural District, Carencro Business Association, and Carencro Kiwanis. When Tonia is not working or volunteering, she enjoys watching her boys play baseball and basketball and traveling. 

Haili Schott, Vice President

Haili Arsement Schott attended Carencro Catholic, Carencro High, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from LSU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Concentration in Graphic Design. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Dylan Schott. They have been together for 26 years and have 2 children, Coco & Honey. Haili has been a swim teacher, running Ms. Ricks Swim School for 25 + years. Since 2009, Haili and Dylan have owned N.E. Kind Print Design in Carencro. She is a member of Carencro Cultural District and Carencro Business Association.

Tracie Lenormand, Secretary

Tracie Lenormand is a resident of Carencro. She attended Carencro Heights, Carencro Middle and Carencro High School. She is the owner of Salon Rouge Carencro. Tracie is married to Rocky Lenormand and they have three boys, Braedyn, Keilyn, and Channyn. Tracie is the president of Carencro Kiwanis, a member of Carencro Cultural District and Krewe de Wideload, and she serves on the board of the Bullpen Baseball Club supporting Carencro High baseball. She loves planning events, designing t-shirts, and watching her boys play baseball.

Alex Clause, Pageant Director

Alex Clause was born and raised in Carencro. She graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2018. Her love for children has brought her into her 6th year of teaching. She is thrilled to be volunteering for this festival and can’t wait to see what it holds for Carencro!

Charlotte Stemmans Clavier, Mayor

Charlotte Stemmans Clavier is the current Mayor of the City of Carencro.  She is the mother of Derek (34), Anna Camille (21) and Eva (18) and the daughter of Don and the late Janet Pitt Stemmans.  She is a lifelong resident of Carencro.  She runs a family business, Stemmans Horse Supply and is active in many industry groups including Board Member of the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Assn, Vice President of the La Horsemens Benevolent & Protective Assn and REAP (Racing Employees Assistance Program).  She is also active in the community as a Board Member of the Kiwanis of Carencro and the Krewe of Karencro.

Bertha Hebert, Board Member

Bertha Hebert is a native and resident of Carencro. She is a graduate of Carencro High School. Bertha graduated from Ronnie and Dorman School of Hair Design and then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in Business and Healthcare Management from Colorado State University. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree at Southern University. Bertha has been married to Shaerod Van Dyke for 16 years. They have two children, Kenisha and Zachary, one granddaughter, Arianna, and nieces, Angel, Aniyah, and Markalie. She is the daughter of Martin and Mary Arceneaux. Bertha has been employed with Ochsner Health for 27 years. She has been president of Carencro Area Youth Sports for over 17 years, served as vice president of North Lafayette Little League, and is a current board member for Scare-N-Cro Fall Fest. She is also an active member of the Lady of Assumption Church, served as vice president of parish council, head chair of church decoration, CCD teacher, and choir director. Bertha is a member of the Historical Society and the Martin Luther King Jr Association.  In her free time, she enjoys singing for weddings and funerals, dancing, traveling, and giving her time to many worthwhile causes in the community.

David Bernard, Board Member

David Bernard, born in 1965, was raised in Carencro. David attended Carencro Catholic, Carencro Elementary, and graduated from Carencro High in 1983. After graduation, he studied business at USL. David worked at KLFY in Lafayette from 1981-1988. He then went out on his own and started Total Video Services and TVS Advertising. He has also represented reality TV stars and bands and owns a construction company. David enjoys volunteering for various organizations in his hometown of Carencro and volunteering for Festival Acadiens et Creole in Lafayette. 

Chad Desormeaux, Board Member

Chad Desormeaux has been married for 12 years and has 4 children. Of his children, one graduated from LSU 3 years ago and one is currently at McNeese while two attend Carencro High School. Chad has been working for  Newpark for the last 10 years after having a career in the oilfield. He is the current School Board District 2 representative and the voice of the Carencro Bears football team. He is also a part-time employee for the city of Carencro. Chad has volunteered in the community over the last 11 years for various organizations.

 

Nathaniel Babineaux, Board Member

Nathaniel Babineaux is a husband and father of two daughters. He is the son of City Councilman Antoine Babineaux Jr. and the late Willie Dean. He graduated from Carencro High School in 1993 and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2001. Nathaniel has 19 years of sales experience and is a board member of the annual Scare-N-Cro Fall Fest.

Elizabeth Savoy, Board Member

Elizabeth Savoy is a mother of two, grandmother of eight, and great grandmother of three. She is widowed seven years after 38 years of marriage. She is a graduate of University of Texas at Arlington and has spent 21 years at OMNI Energy. Elizabeth was a board member and Secretary of Festival International for six years. While giving her time to Festival International, she was the Area Manager of Scene des Jeunes for eight years and Manager of Signage and Volunteer Center for five years. Elizabeth has also volunteered for Festival Acadian for several years. She has been an ACTS Team Core member at Holy Cross Catholic Church for two years and secretary of One Step Forward LLC, feeding the homeless for three years.
